After couple months of lag, we are back.
Last night was Oscar night, we had Miguel coming by to watch the Oscars. Out of 24 categories, I got 9 right, and Miguel got 11. The big surprise is that Bourne Ultimatum won 3 out 3 categories it was nominated. And also the best leading and supporting actresses were surprises.
Jon Stewart did a fine job hosting. But I thought he had too much political overtone. One nice moment was that he invited the girl who the best music back to make her speech after she was cut by the music earlier. And she made a nice comment.
I loved it when the Coen brothers won screenplay, directing, and best picture. They deserve it.
All the European actors won the major acting awards, what happened to the Americans? Or the academy is doing a scene this year?
The films this year are much stronger, I feel, comparing to the previous couple years. I still cannot believe Crash and Departed won those two years. This year's film, unlike those two, is definitely to the caliber of the Oscar best pictures.
